D C Willans is a self taught artist originally from the UK and is currently residing in Sydney Australia. His works are an eclectic blend that comprise of realism, pop art, collage and resin artworks. D C has mastered his craft as an airbrush artist for 10
years, using a combination of freehand and stencil techniques to acquire the soft tones against sharp lines that create the depth of field and realism in his work. D C explains:

“My work is constantly evolving, I began using oils at the early age of nine painting landscapes and was selling my work for pocket money, by the age of ten I had held my first exhibition showcasing a number of different landscape paintings. I have since then discovered the airbrush. I believe as an artist you are on a never-ending journey of discovery, I aim to continuously improve my techniques and express my visions in different ways, using different mediums and materials. My earlier works are an eclectic blend of black and white tones with injections of colour combining realism and pop art within portraiture, wildlife and landscape. Nowadays my focus is on creating portraits that reveal history of the subject, and the layers of their psyche using a range of collage materials that best tell the story, of that souls journey. I capture the layers of each person I paint by using layers of resin, all that contain different aspects of the subject’s personality”.

D C’s diversity is apparent in many ways. His artworks range from huge tailor designed murals for creative work spaces, to artworks on aluminium, art board, clay board, canvas, vehicles and even the human body, don’t be surprised to see them combined all at the same time. D C’s artistic integrity allows him to separate his commercial projects from his personal endeavours that see him touch on subjects that range from current global issues and complex cultural paradigms to beautiful, humorous and breathtaking pieces; projecting a vision of the world, seen through his eyes.

The broad spectrum of DC ‘s ever evolving work makes his exhibitions and released works an anticipated event among collectors, unsure of what is next to come.

From receiving a grant from the Princes trust, a well known British accolade for up and coming talent, Danny’s client base has seen the likes of Audi, Red-bull and even Amy Winehouse request his work. Danny has sold his works both home and abroad and is fast becoming a globally recognised artist.
